I am Jack’s dark soul

I am the dark face which he never brings out, the nemesis which is even worse and bigger than any natural and unnatural epidemics. I am 10 times 9/11 worse and evil. I am greedy, power hungry and I have no regards for any soul.

I use them when I want and the way I want. I was born in the middle of havoc, when mankind started exploiting everything around and almost everything seems to be available on sale at your local store.

It’s ironical to see people saying no-no to human trafficking and have no problem with sale of animals, they don’t realize that we are after all, one of the most exotic animals on which it is priceless to even label a price.

While people see only prices paid by buyers on buying women and kids for their own sick needs, they don’t see how many are put on sale indirectly for one’s own whims and wishes and often the person himself is paid to be used, which is actually not different from the way many of the red light areas in the world that have existed since centuries.

How often is it that you have seen an Employer making employees its partners? How often is it that the employer and the employee are treated equally in the organization? And how often do you see employees being exploited to his/her last breath of the day?

I guess that you all agree that while the occurrence of the first two is almost 1 in a million, most on the other hand don’t mind doing the third one more often than others. The bigger the company, the more the exploitation, the smaller the company, the more higher ranked people are made to go down on their knees and beg for leave, break, grant, something which would give them a space to live.

Live, is such a funny word if you look at it for a moment, for some living is to have his morning most exquisite coffee which is one of the best and finest made by the artistic and precision conscious servants (who would do anything to please their masters for more bucks), stay up until they doze off on the third page of the morning newspaper, eat a good 4 course morning meal and then may be go on to their shops, companies or whatever premises it is that makes up for his lavish and luxurious lifestyle.

While another gets up as early as 5ish, eats, drinks and reads together, rushes to where he works, comes home late, takes care of his family and then repeat the same morning. The difference is not just that the second guy’s coffee tastes shitty, but also that he is a man of his own. He has nothing to back him up, he has no people to help him get up and do what he does best. And that is to lick some boss’s ass to get enough money to support his family.

At school we were taught that what you work will decide how much do you get, is the moral science and the usual sayings so ironical and hypocritical sometimes. You have those who have been served in shining silverware since childhood and you have those who are still feeding themselves on cheap-ware which is just good enough to have the meal and that’s all.

So I wonder if there is any justice on the part of Lord or the Society or the self conscious of individuals who know they aren’t worthy of what they have and they know how the others are having to go through.

But damn I am right, there isn’t any justice, while a billion dollar company badly exploits people in developing countries, ruin s many ecological reserves, greedily use almost every resource on the planet and is involved in accidents so severe that millions have to pay the price through their life, they are never pleaded guilty of their crimes in the court and nor are they made to serve their time behind bars.

The only punishment that they get is to pay back a certain fine of may be a huge amount, but trust me it’s actually a spit on the face of the law and an insult of today’s environment. A common man on the other hand is the one for whom the law is strict and stringent, robbery and theft could lead to going behind bars and killing someone could be a death penalty or life imprisonment.

If you ask me, I don’t see the point of death penalty to someone who may have killed 4-5 people, against the company responsible for the Bhopal gas tragedy or some Nuclear Plant failure in some other part of the world etc. Why don’t we hear companies getting life imprisonment or death penalty, why don’t people take actions against the people involved in the company, why isn’t the board of directors and the stakeholders asked.

This is what I call, the corrupted souls of companies which will never die. It is never accused for its wrong doing; I can still see it showing the middle finger to all of us. It challenges the law on everything and it keeps moving ahead and growing. Evil has its servants and so does the company, the servants are so bounded that their lifestyle, their family, their life is dependent on company’s performance.

Any company today will always talk about its benefit to the society, families it has rehabilitated by providing jobs and every prospectus for their annual initial public offer, would show their performance sugar coated and dipped in chocolate syrup.

But if you question them about pollution and creation of dams leading to loss of many villages only for their need of energy and power, recent sacking of many employees, shifting of their premises to a foreign country, purchase of raw material from cheaper places like china and ignoring your own countries resources for profit, paying heavy packages to top level management employees which is enough to employ around 4000 employees or more, they get irritated and may even say ‘no personal question please’.

I wonder what kind of people run these companies, people with souls are definitely crushed under companies stampeding growth and performance, people without souls are too bothered to even run a company, but people with dark souls serve their master’s will and would do anything to please him. Funny as this may seem, but their master, the Company is of course one of their own creations.
